Some of my friends also like Nodwick, but it's not my cup of tea (real-time free-form trading game, along the lines of Knizia's Wheedle).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14856978.post-1152297966968144892006-07-07T11:46:00.000-07:002006-07-07T11:46:00.000-07:00I still don't consider them terrible complaints, b...I still don't consider them terrible complaints, but I can see what you're saying. The discs fit nicely in the spaces. But everything after this is poorly designed. There's no place to put the plastic dukes, so you have to situate them haphazardly between duchies or balance them on the knights. The city/castle/church markers are not constrasted enough to be easy to see against everything else. The bishop markers are even worse; it's easier to use the reverse side (plain white) to see them. Altogether, the physical design hurts the visual function of play.

A simple solution would be to use large cubes stacked on the knights to represent dukes, and small white cubes to represent bishops. Of course, if you are the kind of person who thinks Railroad Tycoon is a better physical design than Age of Steam, then there is no hope of my convincing you. :)ektedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02200891099572736360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14856978.post-1152227093094344422006-07-06T16:04:00.000-07:002006-07-06T16:04:00.000-07:00Your Move Games announced at Origins, that they wo...Your Move Games announced at Origins, that they would be doing World War 2 Battleground game in 2007. Complaints have generally been overblown on BGG, which is unfortunately exactly what happens on BGG nowadays.Shannon Appelclinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10454937577535623129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14856978.post-1152204285149476162006-07-06T09:44:00.000-07:002006-07-06T09:44:00.000-07:00Rheinlander (F2F) has THE worst physical design of...Rheinlander (F2F) has THE worst physical design of any game I have ever seen.
